May Safety Suggestion Breakfast

Wayne Anderson’s crew won the May safety suggestion lunch. The topic was “If you could do one thing to improve job safety, what would it be?”. Wayne’s crew suggested that being rushed to complete a job or to simply get ahead of schedule creates a safety problem because people cannot focus on safety and often take shortcuts. The crew should be allowed to work at a comfortable pace so that proper attention can be given to safety. They also offered additional suggestions including the need for all ground employees to watch and listen for heavy equipment and not assume that the operator sees them; and blade off the work area to help prevent slips, trips, and falls. The crew was rewarded for their suggestions with a lunch from Dickey’s Barbecue Pit. Those attending the lunch were Clark Rasmussen, Wayne Anderson, Randy Sims, William Rieger, Justin Albright and Ken Pracht.
